1 – Presidency hinges on tight races in battleground states
(AP) — The fate of the United States presidency hung in the balance Wednesday morning, as President Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden battled for three familiar battleground states — Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania — that could prove crucial in determining who wins the White House.
It was unclear when or how quickly a winner could be determined. A late burst of votes in Wisconsin gave Biden a small lead in the state, but it was still too early to call the race. Hundreds of thousands of votes were also outstanding in Michigan and Pennsylvania.
As of Wednesday morning, the races are also still not yet called for Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina and Alaska.
DML: They will try to drag this out as long as they can!
2 – Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf: Still 1 million ballots to count
Gov. Tom Wolf (D-PA) is pledging to count all outstanding mail-in ballots before Pennsylvania certifies a winner in this year’s presidential contest.
Wolf, who has publicly endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden, took to social media early Wednesday, saying the race is too close to call.
“We still have over 1 million mail ballots to count in Pennsylvania,” the governor wrote on social media. “I promised Pennsylvanians that we would count every vote and that’s what we’re going to do.”
DML: As I said yesterday, I trust the liberals in PA as much as I’d trust Charles Mason to babysit my kids.
3 – Twitter, Facebook limit spread of Trump ‘up BIG’ post
Twitter and Facebook on Wednesday acted quickly to label a post from President Trump claiming that he is “up BIG” despite former Vice President Joe Biden maintaining an Electoral College edge.
Trump’s post also claimed that “they are trying to STEAL the Election” and that “votes cannot be cast after the Polls are closed!”
Twitter placed an interstitial label on the tweet warning users that “some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process” and restricted users from interacting with it.
DML: Enough of the censorship!
4 – MSNBC anchor shares bad Florida news with Biden fans: ‘You can hear liquor cabinets opening’
MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace expressed sympathy to her viewers as Election Night continued to show promise for President Trump’s reelection bid.
Wallace, who was hosting the liberal network’s election coverage, expressed worry as results from Florida were increasingly favoring Trump against Democratic nominee Joe Biden. The state was later called in Trump’s favor.
Florida is a state “that has been increasingly difficult for Democrats to win in statewide,” Wallace told the network’s assembled panelists.
“You can feel the hopes and the dreams of our viewers falling down, and you can hear liquor cabinets opening all across this great land,” Wallace mourned. “But Florida wasn’t a state the Biden campaign was counting on, Florida wasn’t a state essential to a Biden win.”
DML: They’re really going to be crying when Trump is announced the winner!
5 – Trump HUGELY narrows gap in Latino Texas county that Clinton won by 79%
President Trump has made up a lot of ground in Starr County, Texas, since 2016 in what once a Democratic stronghold, according to results from the Texas Secretary of State’s Office.
In 2016, Hillary Clinton won the county 79% to Trump’s 17% but in 2020 former Vice President Joe Biden only won by 5% – 52% to Trump’s 47%.
Starr is the most Latino county in the country, according to statistician Thao Nguyen.
DML: People waking up!
6 – DC police investigating stabbing of 4 Proud Boys members at conclusion of protests early Wednesday
Tuesday night, more than 1,000 people protesting President Donald Trump converged on Black Lives Matter Plaza, just a block from the White House, while hundreds more marched through parts of downtown Washington, sometimes blocking traffic and setting off fireworks.
WTOP news partner NBC4 reports D.C. police said three men and a woman who identified as members of the Proud Boys, a far right group, were stabbed by two men and woman. The victims said they were stabbed on New York Avenue N.W., close to the White House.
NBC4 reported that the victims were taken to a D.C. hospital for treatment, but injuries are not considered life-threatening.
DML: Who is surprised?
