|Biden fumes at Abbott, a bad mom, Trump’s taxes, Gillum in hot seat, and more…|
|By Anneta Griffee
Today is December 27. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.
1 – Biden Condemns Greg Abbott’s Migrant Buses to Kamala Harris’s Home
As Breitbart News reported, Abbott sent three buses filled with roughly 130 border crossers to Harris’s D.C. residence, the Naval Observatory, on Christmas Eve when temperatures ranged from seven degrees to 22 degrees.
Abdullah Hasan, a spokesman for Biden’s White House, released a statement condemning the migrant buses and suggesting that Abbott put the border crossers in harm’s way.
“Governor Abbott abandoned children on the side of the road in below-freezing temperatures on Christmas Eve without coordinating with any federal or local authorities,” Hasan said. “This was a cruel, dangerous and shameful stunt.”
ANNETA G: Biden’s open borders policies are the “cruel, dangerous and shameful stunt.” And, I think it’s time to just leave this video as a reminder… when Biden totally dismissed the border just days ago:
2 – Mom carried out armed carjackings using her 5-year-old as a human shield, police say
Bethany Wilson, 24, committed three carjackings over the course of a few hours on Thursday before crashing one of the stolen vehicles on an interstate. She was taken into police custody that same night.
According to the Clarksville Police Department, Wilson first stole a Nissan Juke from a 51-year-old woman pumping gas at around 4:42 p.m. on Thursday. Wilson approached the victim who was filling her car and pointed a gun at her before taking off in the vehicle.
About 30 minutes later, officers responded to a call of shots fired at an intersection and arrived to find a man who claimed a white female took his Mercedes-Benz. The victim said the woman fired a shot and used her 5-year-old child as a shield.
The Nissan and Mercedes were both later recovered by police. Police then learned that Wilson had stolen another vehicle, a Ford F-150, which she allegedly crashed on Interstate 24. Police later received word that Wilson was staying at a Days Inn. Officers arrived at the hotel at around 11 a.m. Thursday and arrested her without incident. Her child was with her in the hotel room and was unharmed.
ANNETA G. People like this do not deserve to have kids… EVER!
3 – House Committee will publish Donald Trump’s redacted tax returns at MIDDAY after ex-president launched failed Supreme Court bid to keep them private
The Democrat-controlled House Ways and Means Committee voted last Tuesday evening to release the returns, in a debate that lasted more than three hours behind closed doors.
The final vote was 24 to 16. All Democrats voted in favor of the action while all Republicans on the panel voted against. Six years’ worth of Trump’s most recent tax returns will be covered, as well as documents from eight of his businesses. They will be partially-redacted.
The former president waged a lengthy legal battle to keep lawmakers from obtaining his tax returns – a fight that went all the way to the Supreme Court. It’s not known exactly what new information will be unearthed when the returns are released. The New York Times already published extensive reports in 2018 and 2020 based on leaked tax information.
ANNETA G: What a complete waste of time, effort and taxpayer dollars. Who CARES about Trump’s tax returns? Here’s what we’ll learn – he had a business that he worked hard to build, and he was rich. Like any business, some years, there are profits and you pay a lot of taxes. Other years, you take huge losses and pay less in taxes. Period, end of story.
4 – Judge won’t drop charges for former gubernatorial candidate
Gillum and a colleague were indicted earlier this year on federal charges including conspiracy, wire fraud and making false statements to FBI agents. Prosecutors said Gillum funneled donations through third parties back to himself for personal use.
According to prosecutors, Gillum met with undercover FBI agents posing as developers while he was mayor of Tallahassee and during his campaign for governor. His associates sought donations from the agents, and suggested ways to provide money without listing them as political contributions, including paying for a fundraising dinner, according to the indictment.
Gillum has pleaded not guilty and denied the charges, saying they were politically motivated. Saying the defendants’ arguments were “meritless,” U.S. District Judge Allen Winsor last week dismissed four motions from the defendants challenging the continuation of the prosecution.
Gillum had asked that the charges be dismissed because prosecutors delayed filing them and he was being prosecuted because of his race and politics. The judge who was appointed by former President Donald Trump said Gillum had offered nothing to support the claim of selective prosecution because of his race or politics.
ANNETA G. And to think this guy was the liberal media’s darling. Thank goodness he didn’t get into the governor’s seat!!
5 – Loudoun County Parents Slam Effort To Ban ‘Hate Speech’ From School Board Meetings
The petition, signed by several hundred county residents and started by 19-year-old Andrew Pihonak, a Loudoun County resident and member of the LGTBTQ community, calls to “ban hate speech in Loudoun School Board meetings” after a man called homosexuality “immoral” and quoted a violent Bible verse during the public comment period of the Dec. 13 board meeting. Parents present at the meeting and seeking accountability from the school board for a special grand jury report, which found the district failed to alert the community of multiple sexual assaults within the district, told the Daily Caller News Foundation the one comment is not representative of their efforts and that their demands have nothing to do with the LGBTQ community.
The petition misrepresents parents at the Dec. 13 school board meeting who are focusing on holding the school board accountable, Colin Donniger, a Loudoun County parent, told the DCNF.
At the Dec. 13 meeting, Loudoun County parents demanded the school board members resign after a special grand jury report revealed that the school board failed to alert the community of multiple sexual assaults that occurred within the school system. Following the release of the report, former Loudoun County Public Schools Superintendent Scott Ziegler was indicted on three misdemeanor charges, including penalizing an employee for a court appearance and Loudoun County Public Schools Public Information Officer Wayde Byard was indicted with felony perjury.
As of Monday, the petition had more than 900 signatures and stated that “platforming hate speech” leads to violence, such as the bullying, torturing and killing of “oppressed groups of people” such as the LGBTQ community. The petition demands that school board policy be amended so that “the second hate speech is spoken” the person’s public comment period is finished.
ANNETA G. When quoting the Bible is “hate speech” but sexual assault in schools can be swept under the rug, our society has totally fallen off the cliff! God bless these parents for not backing down and trying to hold this school board accountable. Vote them all OUT, and that ridiculous petition needs to go in the garbage!
