Today is November 23. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.
1 – Walmart employee in Chesapeake, Virginia opens fire on colleagues, kills six
Chesapeake Police Chief Mark Solesky told reporters Wednesday morning that the male employee used a pistol in the attack, which also left four other people hospitalized.
Their conditions are currently unknown and following a search by a SWAT team at the individual’s home, police believe there is “no risk to the public at this time,” Solesky added.
The employee has not been identified as police say they have yet to contact his next of kin. Prior to the shooting, officials say he was not familiar to law enforcement. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police say.
ANNETA G: Horrific. We need to take a serious look at why people are just snapping – it’s not what’s in their hand – it’s what’s in their head!
2 – Tax filing websites have been sending users’ financial information to Facebook
The data, sent through widely used code called the Meta Pixel, includes not only information like names and email addresses but often even more detailed information, including data on users’ income, filing status, refund amounts, and dependents’ college scholarship amounts.
The information sent to Facebook can be used by the company to power its advertising algorithms and is gathered regardless of whether the person using the tax filing service has an account on Facebook or other platforms operated by its owner Meta.
Each year, the Internal Revenue Service processes about 150 million individual returns filed electronically, and some of the most widely used e-filing services employ the pixel, The Markup found.
ANNETA G: I find this HIGHLY disturbing. Zuckerberg has entirely too much data and power.
3 – Previously Deported Illegal Alien Charged with Killing 6-Month-Old in Drunk Driving Crash
Efrain Jimenez Lopez, a 24-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, has been arrested and charged with causing a fatal drunk driving crash on November 1 that caused the death of Alden Adams.
According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office, Lopez was driving without a valid driver’s license when he rear-ended a minivan driven by 30-year-old Samantha Adams who had her six-month-old baby, Alden, in the vehicle with her.
While Alden Adams was taken to a nearby hospital in Kamazaoo, Michigan, where he died from his injuries, police allege that Lopez admitted to crawling away from the crash, into a cornfield, in an effort to evade arrest.
Lopez was first deported from the United States in February 2019 after he illegally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border via Calexico, California. At a later date, unknown to federal officials, Lopez again illegally crossed the border and made his way to Michigan.
ANNETA G: Anyone who takes a look at this precious baby and then still believes we should have open borders is sick! Secure the borders NOW! How many more of these has Biden allowed into our country over the past two years?!
4 – Woke University of Chicago professor postpones class called ‘The Problem of WHITENESS’
Rebecca Journey was set to teach the woke class, where students would ‘analyze whiteness as a social construct.’
She dismissed claims that the session would stoke ‘anti-white hatred’ calling the criticism ‘disingenuous’.
But outraged students called the class the most ‘egregious example’ of anti-white hatred on the college campus.
Journey was forced to push the class back to next spring in order to give officials at the teaching institution time to come up with a safety plan for both her and the students.
ANNETA G: This professor should be FIRED. Who else agrees with me?
5 – China may have ‘passed the point of no return’ as Covid infections soar
In the last few days, the daily case count has climbed to around or more than 28,000 — near levels seen in April during a stringent lockdown in Shanghai, according to CNBC calculations of Wind Information data. The figures showed the last time mainland China saw only a handful of daily infections was in June, shortly after Shanghai eased its restrictions.
The latest Covid wave has hit the southern city of Guangzhou, the capital city of Beijing and many central parts of China — prompting local officials to tighten restrictions on business and social activity this month.
“China might have already passed the point of no return, as it’s unlikely to achieve zero Covid again without another Shanghai-style hard lockdown,” Hu said in a report Tuesday. “What policymakers could do now is to slow the spread of virus, i.e. flatten the curve, by tightening the Covid controls for the time being.”
ANNETA G: So the China virus has boomerranged? And all those masks and lockdowns have severely affected their immune systems. I’d recommend DML CBD!
