Today is October 28. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room. 1. Elon Musk fires Twitter’s top brass after closing $44 billion deal: reports A source with knowledge of the matter told FOX Business that Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and Vijaya Gadde, head of legal policy, trust, and safety were fired. Musk had accused the three of misleading him and investors over the number of fake accounts on the platform. Agrawal, Segal, and Gadde were shuttled from the building after being fired, people familiar with the matter told The Washington Post. MY TAKE: I pray to God Musk makes big changes. This is a good start. 2. North Korea launches ballistic missile toward its eastern waters, South Korea says The launch is the latest in a series of weapons tests by the isolated nation, which Seoul sees as intimidation and a prelude to a potential invasion attempt. It also came as South Korea wraps up joint military exercises with an unspecified number of U.S. troops ahead of large-scale joint drills with the U.S. that the north has condemned as a threat. Four days earlier, the north and south exchanged warning shots as they accused each other of breaching maritime borders. MY TAKE: Concerning. 3. Hawaii residents are warned that world’s largest volcano could ERUPT Scientists say an eruption isn’t imminent, but they are on alert because of a recent spike in earthquakes at the volcano’s summit. Experts say it would take just a few hours for lava to reach homes closest to vents on the volcano, which last erupted in 1984. MY TAKE: Prayers! 4. Santa Fe detectives complete investigation into Alec Baldwin ‘Rust’ shooting — criminal charges may be imminent “Today, District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies received the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s investigative report on the Rust movie set incident,” Heather Brewer, the spokesperson for Santa Fe’s top prosecutor, said in an email. “The District Attorney and her team of investigators and prosecutors will now begin a thorough review of the information and evidence to make a thoughtful, timely decision about whether to bring charges.” Brewer said the prosecutor’s focus will be “on upholding the integrity of the process, enforcing the laws of the state of New Mexico, and pursuing justice.” MY TAKE: I would love to see some justice for Hutchins‘ family. 5. ‘A man shouldn’t be in the women’s locker room’: Vermont student, 14, is SUSPENDED and her coach father FIRED for complaining about trans pupil in girls’ changing room Blake Allen, 14, was suspended from Randolph Union High School and her father Travis Allen was fired without pay from his job as the girls’ soccer coach for calling the biologically male student, who identifies as a transgender girl, ‘a male.’ The father and teen daughter joined ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ on Thursday night to discuss the lawsuit filed against the school district. ‘I was suspended because I voiced my opinion that a man shouldn’t be in the women’s locker room,’ Blake said on the show. ‘A lot of my classmates were supportive, I think most people and the school are, they are just too scared to speak up because they see all the backlash I’m getting for it.’ Travis said: ‘I made a social media post that referred to the male student as a male and I was punished because of it. Because I misgendered him.’ MY TAKE: Her story is outrageous! |
