Today is April 19. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.

1.’They said they were trying to kill us!’ Chicago couple who were battered by violent mob say it was a ‘completely random’ attack – as Illinois state senator DEFENDS teen rioters claiming it was a protest ‘against poverty’
DailyMail-A couple who were violently targeted in Chicago’s out of control ‘teen riots’ have condemned their attackers for trying ‘to kill us’ – after an Illinois state senator defended the mob for protesting ‘against poverty and segregation’.

Terrifying footage caught the moment on Saturday evening when Ashley, 20, and DJ, 22, were swarmed by teen rioters after they stepped out on the streets of Chicago.
The young couple said the unprovoked attack was ‘completely random’ – but state senator Robert Peters took to Twitter the next day to come out behind the mob.

Ryan Lynch: We covered this exact story on yesterday’s program. The Illinois state officials should be condemning the blacks running around terrorizing downtown Chicago. These cities are creating an atmosphere that encourages this behavior by not punishing those responsible. If you live in these Citys, I don’t see the lure to stay anymore.

2. Fox resolves Dominion case, but a bigger election defamation lawsuit looms
ReutersApril 19 (Reuters) – Fox News on Tuesday disposed of one legal threat with its $787.5 million defamation settlement with Dominion Voting Systems, but the network still faces a $2.7 billion lawsuit from another voting technology company over its coverage of debunked election-rigging claims.
Dominion accused Fox and its parent company Fox Corp (FOXA.O) of ruining its business by airing claims that its machines were used to rig the 2020 U.S. presidential election in favor of Democrat Joe Biden and against then-president Donald Trump, a Republican.

But Fox’s lawyers will stay busy navigating the legal fallout of the network’s 2020 election coverage with a potentially far more damaging defamation lawsuit by voting technology company Smartmatic, as well as a separate but related lawsuit by a recently fired producer.

Ryan Lynch: Those voting machine companies defiantly played a part in rigging the 2020 election. This won’t change my mind, either.

3. Man arrested in shootings that killed 4, wounded 3 in rural Maine
NYPFour people were found shot to death in rural Maine on Tuesday, and three motorists were wounded by gunfire on a nearby stretch of highway in a series of related incidents for which a single suspect has been arrested, state police said.

A man initially detained by police as a “person of interest” in all the shootings was later formally arrested and charged with four counts of murder, according to state police spokesperson Shannon Moss.

The man, considered a suspect in the highway gunfire as well but not charged with those shootings, was identified as Joseph Eaton, 34, of Bowdoin, a small town about 25 miles south of Maine’s capital, Augusta.

Ryan Lynch: People kill people. Let’s see what comes out about Joseph Eaton; I’m curious. I pray for the families who lost a loved one and the three people who were wounded.

4. Two-time ‘Survivor’ contestant Keith Nale dies at 62
FoxNewsKeith Nale, a beloved fan-favorite who appeared on two seasons of ‘Survivor’, has died at the age of 62 following a battle with cancer.

Nale’s son, Wes, told ET Online, “He passed away this afternoon. He’d been battling cancer for the past few months, and we found out about it in January.”

“A life taken way too soon!” Nale’s brother, Kevin, told the outlet. “It happened so quickly. Cancer ate him up. He Passed this afternoon at his home in Shreveport, Louisiana.”

Prior to appearing on ‘Survivor,’ Nale worked as a fire captain and paramedic in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Ryan Lynch:  I pray for Keith Nale and his family and thank him for his service as a fireman and paramedic of our great nation.

5. GOP Sen. Marshall: There Were Multiple Lab Leaks, 95% of Evidence Points to Lab Leak Origin of COVID
BreitbartOn Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) discussed a report on the origins of the coronavirus released by Senate Republicans and stated that he believes 95% of the evidence points to a lab leak and the preponderance of the evidence demonstrates that there were multiple lab leaks.

Marshall said, “It is a bombshell that the preponderance of the evidence shows that there were two lab leaks, the first one occurring probably somewhere around the September timeframe in a Wuhan laboratory, an unintentional lab leak sometime in September of 2019, the Chinese then began vaccine research, and we think that is when this epidemic — which became a pandemic — actually exploded. Most likely, they were developing this vaccine in a laboratory in the Wuhan University, working on primates. We think that’s when some type of an aerosol was accidentally released from that laboratory or a lab worker walked out of that with this very, very contagious virus.”

He added, “I think if we had a scale in front of us and we put all the evidence on one side that supports a national spillover, the other…the lab origin of this, I think 95% of that evidence is on the lab origin.”

Ryan Lynch: The truth always comes out eventually. This virus was man-made and got leaked either by accident or on purpose.
