DML Morning Briefing June 24

By  Dennis Michael Lynch

Today is June 24. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.

1..Hundreds of migrants seen wandering on side of road in Texas amid illegal immigration surge
Fox News – Hundreds of migrants suspected to have entered the country illegally were seen Thursday wandering the side of a highway in Eagle Pass, Texas, a small town just east of the Rio Grande on the Mexican border, a video taken by Texas law enforcement showed.

Between August and May Border Patrol officers have paroled more than 207,000 migrants to avoid overcrowding in detention centers, a system started under the Biden administration.

By law, the Homeland Security Department may parole migrants “for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.” The Border Patrol says it turned to parole because it lacks holding space and resources are “overwhelmed.”

The Border Patrol in Eagle Pass sends around 1,000 migrants every day to a nonprofit called Mission: Border Hope in the town.

DML: If I was the president every single illegal alien in the country would be sent home. I would sign an executive order allowing local police to detain and deport. Then I would go after every single employer of illegal aliens and fine them until they were broke. If that didn’t work they’d be jailed. This is out of control.  And although Biden is a disgrace, he’s just another president in a long line of presidents, including Trump, who did NOTHING to stop the hiring of illegal aliens.

2. Senate passes bipartisan gun control bill
Fox News – The Senate passed a bipartisan gun bill late Thursday night in a 65-33 vote. The bill, spearheaded by Sens. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., and John Cornyn, R-Texas, comes in the wake of several recent mass shootings. The mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, which left 19 children and two teachers dead, was the major driver behind the bipartisan effort.

“I am proud that after weeks of hard work, the Senate passed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, a bill I negotiated with my colleagues,” Cornyn said. “Our bill will save lives while placing no new restrictions on law-abiding gun owners.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said the bill was the first major gun safety legislation to be passed since the Brady Bill in 1994.The bill would provide funding for states to create programs that could keep weapons away from people who are a danger to themselves or others, often called red flag laws. It would also enhance background checks for gun buyers under 21, add penalties for some gun criminals and provide funding for a variety of health and mental health-related programs.

It also addresses closing the so-called “boyfriend loophole,” which is a gap in federal law that means spousal domestic abusers can have gun rights taken away but not unmarried ones.

The Republicans who joined Democrats in voting for the bill were Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Sens. Richard Burr of North Carolina, Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, John Cornyn of Texas, Joni Ernst of Iowa, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Rob Portman of Ohio, Mitt Romney of Utah, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, Todd Young of Indiana, and Roy Blunt of Missouri.

DML: And with this bill set to pass the House and be signed by Biden (just in time for the midterms), not only do the Republicans give this administration a victory, not only do they hurt law abiding citizens, but killings will continue each day in inner cities, and our kids in school will continue to be open season for psychos.  I say this because the bill will do nothing to stop a deranged shooter who already has a gun to enter and kill at will.  Mark my words, some lunatic will pull off another mass shooting because schools remain open targets.  The Republicans who signed this have no backbone.  Giving Biden and the Democrats a win in this lane is no different than voting for Biden for president, which I bet most of them did in 2020.  I will talk about this on my program today, tune into The Dennis Michael Lynch Podcast on The DML NEWS APP.

3. Ukrainians withdrawing from embattled Sievierodonetsk
KYIV, June 24 (Reuters) – Ukraine signalled on Friday its troops were withdrawing from the city of Sievierodonetsk, the scene of weeks of intense bombardments and street fighting, in a move that would be a significant setback in its struggle to defeat Russian forces.

Provincial governor Serhiy Gaidai said troops in the city had already received the order to move to new positions, but he did not indicate whether they had already done so or where exactly they were going.

DML: Looks like our $Billions sent isn’t working.  Dang it, looks like Joe will need to send more of your money because protecting Ukraine from a border invasion is more important than protecting our own borders.

4. Facebook removes DML viral video over “Covid” misinformation claim
DML NEWS APP Exclusive: On Thursday, Facebook removed a video I posted last two weeks ago.  The video had been shared thousands of times and received tens of thousands of views. In the LIVE video, I discuss the hypocrisy of the Biden administration’s CDC heads putting out a warning to US citizens about the dangers of traveling to Mexico due to high levels of COVID cases.  Meanwhile, Biden and the DHS continue to allow 20,000 illegal aliens into the US from Mexico unchecked each day.  Somehow my message was classified as “misinformation” about Covid-19 and vaccines.  As a result, the company made it so I can no longer monetize content on the platform.  I will talk about this more today on The Dennis Michael Lynch Podcast.

5. $100 million worth of crypto has been stolen in another major hack
CNBC – Hackers have stolen $100 million in cryptocurrency from Horizon, a so-called blockchain bridge, in the latest major heist in the world of decentralized finance.

Details of the attack are still slim, but Harmony, the developers behind Horizon, said they identified the theft Wednesday morning. Harmony singled out an individual account it believes to be the culprit.

“We have begun working with national authorities and forensic specialists to identify the culprit and retrieve the stolen funds,” the start-up said in a tweet late Wednesday.

In a follow-up tweet, Harmony said it’s working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and multiple cybersecurity firms to investigate the attack.

DML: I will be hosting a podcast soon about Crypto and what it’s all about, but it appears just as vulnerable as leaving your wallet on the bar.
