DML Morning Briefing JULY 8

By  Dennis Michael Lynch

Today is July 8. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.

1.Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe assassinated
Fox News – Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, 67, has been assassinated in a shooting while giving a speech on a street in Nara in western Japan Friday morning, hospital officials confirmed hours later.

Video posted to social media appeared to capture the moment Abe was shot. He is seen speaking to a crowd when suddenly a loud bang is heard and a cloud of smoke erupts. People in the crowd are heard gasping in shock. A second blast is heard just as the camera pans away.

It appears Abe was shot twice from behind. At the time, he was making a campaign speech ahead of Sunday’s election for the parliament’s upper house.

A male suspect was arrested at the scene and an apparent homemade gun was confiscated. He was identified as Tetsuya Yamagami, 41, Nara prefectural police confirmed. Gun violence is extremely rare in Japan.

DML: Crazy people everywhere. And proof that if bad guys want guns they’ll get them. Japan is mostly a gun free nation.

2.Facing pressure, Biden to sign order on abortion access

ApNews – President Joe Biden will take executive action Friday to protect access to abortion, the White House said, as he faces mounting pressure from fellow Democrats to be more forceful on the subject after the Supreme Court ended a constitutional right to the procedure two weeks ago.

The White House said Biden will speak Friday morning “on protecting access to reproductive health care services.” The actions he was expected to outline are intended to try to mitigate some potential penalties women seeking abortion may face after the ruling but are limited in their ability to safeguard access to abortion nationwide.

Biden is expected to formalize instructions to the Departments of Justice and Health and Human Services to push back on efforts to limit the ability of women to access federally approved abortion medication or to travel across state lines to access clinical abortion services.

DML: With all the crap this guy faces (crap he’s created), he’s focused on killing the unborn.  Can’t understand the brain of a Democrat.

3.ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC ignore voicemail Joe Biden allegedly left for Hunter Biden on business dealings
Fox News – The mainstream media has largely ignored a leaked voicemail President Joe Biden purportedly left for his son Hunter Biden about his overseas business dealings, maintaining that any materials that allegedly originated from his son’s now-infamous laptop would not be discussed.

President Biden has repeatedly denied discussing Hunter’s business ventures with him, but on June 27, the Daily Mail first published a bombshell voicemail that many feel contradicts previous claims.

“Hey pal, it’s Dad. It’s 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you have a chance give me a call. Nothing urgent—I just wanted to talk with you,” Biden is heard saying in a voicemail from 2018. “I thought the article released online, it’s going to be printed tomorrow in the Times, was good. I think you’re clear.”

The article Biden was referring to was published by the New York Times in December 2018 and reported a private meeting between the chairman of a now-defunct Chinese energy company, CEFC, and Hunter at a Miami hotel in May 2017.

CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and CBS all ignored the story from June 27 through the morning of July 7, according to a review of transcripts conducted by Fox News Digital.

DML: In the same way you are never informed about the risks of the vaccine, in the same way you are never told about the election fraud found, in the same way they protected Obama, the media continues to destroy America by holding back information on the guy they voted for in 2020.  It is beyond pathetic.  If this was a Don Jr story, the media would have saw to it that Don Jr was in orange pajamas sharing a cell with a convicted rapist.

4.NYC bodega worker, 62, charged with murder returns home
DailyMail – A New York City bodega worker charged with murder after fighting off an ex-con in his store has been freed from jail after his bond was lowered amid a public outcry.

Jose Alba, 62, was released from Rikers Island on Thursday evening after his bail was lowered from $250,000 to $50,000, and returned to his Hamilton Heights home wearing an electronic monitor and accompanied by one of his sons.

Alba was arrested on Friday for stabbing Austin Simon after the 35-year-old charged into the Harlem bodega where he worked and attacked him.

DML: Alec Lace of First Class Fatherhood is often a guest on my podcast.  He and I met yesterday in person for the first time and recorded a podcast.  We open the program speaking about this very topic and how insane it is for this man to be in jail for defending his own life.  You can listen to the podcast today, after 10am on The DML NEWS APP.

5.Jobs report is better than expected
CNBC -Job growth accelerated at a much faster pace than expected in June, indicating that the main pillar of the U.S. economy remains strong despite pockets of weakness.

Nonfarm payrolls increased 372,000 in the month, better than the 250,000 Dow Jones estimate and continuing what has been a strong year for job growth, according to data Friday from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The unemployment rate was 3.6%, unchanged from May and in line with estimates. An alternative measure of unemployment that includes discouraged workers and those holding parttime jobs for economic reasons fell sharply, dropping to 6.7% from 7.1%.

June’s gains marked a slight deceleration from the downwardly revised 384,000 in May. April’s count was revised down to 368,000.

DML: It’s fools gold because it’s a summer blast of hiring.  Once summer ends, the trend will reverse.
