DML Morning Briefing July 11

By  Dennis Michael Lynch

Today is July 11. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.

1.Trump associates’ ties to extremists probed by Jan. 6 panel
AP News – After members of the far-right Oath Keepers extremist group stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan 6, 2021, their leader called someone on the phone with an urgent message for then-President Donald Trump, another extremist told investigators.

While gathered in a private suite at the Phoenix Park Hotel, an Oath Keeper member says he heard their leader, Stewart Rhodes, repeatedly urge the person on the phone to tell Trump to call upon militia groups to fight to keep the president in power.

“I just want to fight,” Rhodes said after hanging up with the person, who denied Rhodes’ appeal to speak directly to the Republican president, court records say.

Federal prosecutors have not said who they believe Rhodes was speaking to on that call, which was detailed in court documents in the case of an Oath Keeper member who has pleaded guilty in the riot. An attorney for Rhodes says the call never happened.

DML: Shouldn’t there be a panel investigating the emails and phone calls between Hunter Biden, his father, and Chinese based companies. When a president gives away our oil reserves to our enemy (China) something smells.

2.$15M in American Rescue Plan funds went to ‘anti-racism,’ ‘social activism’ programs for kids

Fox News – A federal government agency dedicated to supporting libraries and museums across the country spent $15 million in funds from President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package on programs pushing “anti-racist” education and “social activism” for children.

In October, the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), announced $15,255,733 in American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act project grants “to institutions across 49 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico to support the role of museums and libraries in recovering from the coronavirus pandemic.”

A review of the grant recipients shows that many projects that received funding from the relief package included “anti-racist” education and “social activism” for school-aged children, and many others which had virtually little to do with recovery efforts.

DML: Biden needs to be impeached by the House, removed from office by the Senate, and held accountable by the DOJ.

3.California doctor proposes FLOATING abortion clinic on a boat in the Gulf of Mexico to bypass bans

DailyMail – A California doctor is proposing a floating abortion clinic in the Gulf of Mexico as a way to maintain access for people in southern states where abortion bans have been enacted.

The idea is to provide a clinic aboard a ship in federal waters, and out of reach of state laws, that would offer first trimester surgical abortions, contraception and other care, said Dr. Meg Autry, an obstetrician and gynecologist and a professor at the University of California San Francisco.

‘There’s been an assault on reproductive rights in our country and I’m a lifelong advocate for reproductive health and choice. We have to create options and be thoughtful and creative to help people in restrictive states get the health care they deserve,’ she told The Associated Press.

DML: In my opinion this is just another mentally unstable, totally delusional, heartless, POS from California who enjoys killing the unborn.  And to think the government is concerned more about moms who attend school board meetings… it is all just insane.

4.Twitter shares sink 7% in premarket trading after Elon Musk terminates $44 billion deal

CNBC – Twitter shares sank sharply in premarket trade Monday after Elon Musk said he is trying to terminate his $44 billion takeover of the company.

Shares of Twitter were down 7% in U.S. premarkets, implying a loss of nearly $2 billion in market value from Friday’s closing price. Tesla shares also dipped marginally.

On Friday, Musk’s attorney notified Twitter’s board that he wants to cancel the deal. The billionaire has taken issue with the number of bots and fake accounts on Twitter and says the company isn’t being truthful about how much activity on the service is authentic.

Twitter, on the other hand, says it has given Musk the information he needs to assess its claim that spam accounts make up only 5% of monetizable daily active users, including its so-called firehose, an unfiltered, real-time stream of daily tweets.

DML: Musk is going to have the last laugh here, make no mistake.

5.New concern as COVID-19 cases rise in the US
Abc News – About 75% of Americans reside in an area with high or medium risk of COVID infection.

New York City has imposed new mask advisories, urging people to wear masks indoor public places and outdoors in crowded spaces.  ABC NEWS medical contributor Dr. Darien Sutton says the warnings should be taken seriously, and that 100,000 new cases per day are popping up across the country.

DML: It’s time to prepare, it’s time to boost the immune system.  This new wave is likely to be a doozy.
