DML Morning Briefing Fri. May 6

The left targets Christians, DOJ gets woker, insanity in schools, and more….

By  Team DML

Today is May 6 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch. Below are my opinions on the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room, in my opinion.

1 – Abortion groups plan drastic action against Christian denomination on Mother’s Day
Fox News reports: Pro-abortion activists are targeting Catholic churches for protests on Mother’s Day, with some citing the Roman Catholic faith of multiple justices who reportedly at one point supported the leaked draft opinion striking down Roe v. Wade.

The protests follow days of organizing in front of the Supreme Court building following the leak Monday night – protests that led the Washington, D.C., police to erect a fence ostensibly to protect the building and justices within. Fox News has also learned that there has been a strong police presence at the justices’ homes following the leak.

“Whether you’re a ‘Catholic for Choice’, ex-Catholic, of other or no faith, recognize that six extremist Catholics set out to overturn Roe,” the pro-abortion organizing group Ruth Sent Us posted on Twitter, with a video of activists appearing to disrupt a church service. “Stand at or in a local Catholic Church Sun May 8.”

The organization Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights has organized a “week of action” beginning on May 8, Mother’s Day, with “Actions Outside of Churches.”

DML: And the attack on Christians continues.

2 – Justice Department Launches Comprehensive Environmental Justice Strategy – Attorney General Launches New Office of Environmental Justice
The Justice Department announced on Thursday: Attorney General Merrick B. Garland was joined by EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan today in announcing a series of actions to secure environmental justice for all Americans. In addition to launching a new Office of Environmental Justice within the Justice Department, Attorney General Garland also announced a new comprehensive environmental justice enforcement strategy to guide the Justice Department’s work and issued an Interim Final Rule that will restore the use of supplemental environmental projects in appropriate circumstances.

“Although violations of our environmental laws can happen anywhere, communities of color, indigenous communities, and low-income communities often bear the brunt of the harm caused by environmental crime, pollution, and climate change,” said Attorney General Garland. “For far too long, these communities have faced barriers to accessing the justice they deserve. The Office of Environmental Justice will serve as the central hub for our efforts to advance our comprehensive environmental justice enforcement strategy. We will prioritize the cases that will have the greatest impact on the communities most overburdened by environmental harm.”

DML: Heaven help us. With all the problems we face this is what they focus on… voodoo.

3 – US added 428,000 jobs in April despite surging inflation
The Associated Press reports: America’s employers added 428,000 jobs in April, extending a streak of solid hiring that has defied punishing inflation, chronic supply shortages, the Russian war against Ukraine and much higher borrowing costs.

Friday’s jobs report from the Labor Department showed that last month’s hiring kept the unemployment rate at 3.6%, just above the lowest level in a half-century.

The economy’s hiring gains have been remarkably consistent in the face of the worst inflation in four decades. Employers have added at least 400,000 jobs for 12 straight months.

Yet it’s unclear how long the jobs boom will continue. The Federal Reserve this week raised its key rate by a half-percentage point — its most aggressive move since 2000 — and signaled further large rate hikes to come. As the Fed’s rate hikes take effect, they will make it increasingly expensive for consumers and businesses to borrow, spend and hire.

DML: Inflation is eating up the gains.  80 million people really voted for this?

4 – State’s schools will be required to put feminine products in boys’ bathrooms
Fox News reports: Oregon public schools will be required to provide feminine products along with instructions on “how to use” those products in all K-12 bathrooms regardless of gender, in accordance with the state’s “Menstrual Dignity Act” signed into law last year.

The controversial mandate, solidified by Democratic Gov. Kate Brown, was set to go into full effect during the 2022-2023 school year. A 2021 statement from Portland Public Schools detailed how the act would be implemented long-term.

“Starting next year (2022-2023), products will be available in all restrooms (male, female and all-gender) in every PPS building where education occurs,” the statement read.

“To ensure timely compliance, PPS ordered 500 dispensers. Dispensers have been installed in all elementary and middle school girls’ restrooms, and more will be installed in all remaining bathrooms, including boys’ restrooms, next year.

The statement also stressed the need for students to learn about growth and development, noted that some physical education courses are implementing lessons on “the four pillars of Menstrual Dignity” and encouraged parents to have similar discussions with their children to help reduce the “shame and stigma” surrounding menstruation.

DML: We are at the point of no return when measuring how insane the left will get.

5 – Reporters asked pro-abortion protesters at #SCOTUS “what is a woman?”
Matt Miller and Luke Gentile, both reporters for the Washington Examiner, went out to interview pro-abortion protesters at the Supreme Court.

The protesters were asked if men should have a say in whether a woman aborts their babies. They were also asked for the definition of a woman.

This is a must-watch:

DML: Just can’t make this stuff up, folks!
