DML Morning Briefing Thurs. Apr. 8: Biden’s next crackdown, horrors at detention centers, crazy ‘cancel culture’, new jobs report, more…
By Team DML
Today is April 8 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch. Below are my opinions on the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room, in my opinion.
1 – Biden to announce gun control measures
Fox News reports: President Biden will announce gun control measures on Thursday that an administration official described as an initial set of actions aimed at addressing all forms of gun violence.
The president will detail several initiatives to be achieved through a mix of executive and legislative action, the official told reporters.
Biden will call on the Department of Justice to issue proposed rules to stop the proliferation of so-called “ghost guns” within 30 days. Ghost guns refer to kits that allow the recipient to assemble the firearm using provided parts. These guns do not have commercial serial numbers and are difficult to track.
The Justice Department will be given 60 days to issue a separate rule on stabilizing braces, which can turn a pistol into a more accurate weapon that fires like a rifle. Sixty days will also be provided for the DOJ to develop model “red flag” legislation that would allow friends and family members to identify an individual as a potential danger, thereby temporarily preventing the person from accessing a firearm.
Donald Trump Jr. blasted Biden on Twitter after learning of the upcoming announcement.
“Biden wants law-abiding Americans to be as defenseless against criminals as he is walking up a flight of stairs,” Trump Jr. tweeted Wednesday.
“Joe Biden won’t be happy until the 2nd Amendment is buried deeper in the ground than the Federal Investigation into Hunter Biden,” he added.
DML: Here’s an idea… how about cracking down on criminals instead of law-abiding citizens seeking to defend themselves? Just an idea. Maybe it would work!
2 – More than 1,300 migrant children are being held at coliseum where sexual abuse is alleged
Fox News reports: The number of migrant children being detained at a facility in San Antonio, Texas, has nearly tripled in less than two weeks, as state and federal agencies have received complaints of abuse taking place there.
On March 29, 500 male children between the ages of 13 and 17 were taken to the Freeman Expo Center. As of Monday, that number had skyrocketed to 1,370, officials said, according to local station KSAT.
Meanwhile, Gov. Greg Abbott is calling on President Biden to shut down the facility after the Department of Health and Human Services and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services received complaints of child abuse taking place there. Abbott said this included allegations of sexual assault, a failure to separate children infected with COVID-19 from others, children not eating, and an insufficient number of staffers.
“In short, this facility is a health and safety nightmare. The Biden administration is now presiding over the abuse of children,” Abbott told reporters.

DML: What Biden is doing to this country is unfathomable.
3 – Black church groups plan to protest at Masters Tournament
The Hill reports: The African Methodist Episcopal Church and similar religious Black groups call for a boycott of the Masters golf tournament in response to controversial election law passed in Georgia.
House Bill 531 is a Republican-led effort to make voters have required identification for absentee ballots, making some civil rights activists angry.
Just like Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game, originally slated to be in Georgia until protesters pressured the league, AME Bishop Reginald Jackson is leading a boycott of Coca-Cola, Delta, Home Depot, and other Atlanta-based corporations.
The Masters tournament is set to take place in Augusta National from April 8 to 11.
On Wednesday, Jackson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he hopes these companies side with him and fellow civil rights activist groups like the National Black Justice Coalition, saying the HB531 is “an attempt to turn back time to Jim Crow.”
4 – ‘Soviet Indoctrination’ – Teach ‘White Privilege’ to Toddlers, Unions Demand
Breitbart reports: Lessons on so-called “white privilege” are needed to combat “racial prejudice” within children, according to new guidance drawn up by a group of education charities and unions.
The guidance came in the form of a 128-page paper entitled ‘Birth to 5 Matters from the Early Years Coalition’, which was developed over the past six months by representatives from the National Education Union (NEU), the National Day Nurseries Association, and the Association for Professional Development in Early Years.
The paper claimed that “talking about race is a first step in countering racism. It is a mistaken assumption that treating all people in the same way and ignoring differences in race is a sufficient response to racism.
The chairman of the House of Commons Education select committee, Robert Halfon MP, said: “This is just unacceptable. This dogma and doctrine is totally out of place. We have all got to combat racism but this is the absolute wrong way to go about it, and insults white working-class people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The whole purpose of children learning is to learn, not for some kind of political Soviet indoctrination session.”
DML: This madness is spreading all over the world!
5 – New jobs report released, and it’s worse than expected
Fox Business reports: The number of Americans filing first-time unemployment benefits unexpectedly rose last week, according to the Labor Department.
Data released Thursday showed 744,000 Americans filed first-time jobless claims in the week ended April 3. Analysts surveyed by Refinitiv were expecting 680,000 filings. The previous week’s total was revised higher by 9,000 to 728,000.
Continuing claims for the week ended March 27, meanwhile, fell to 3.734 million from the prior week’s downwardly revised 3.75 million. Economists had expected the number of continuing claims to decline to 3.65 million.
DML: So we’ve got millions of people out of work in the U.S., and over half a million homeless, but Biden is allowing a large city of illegal aliens to pour across the border every month. Share YOUR thoughts in the comments section below
