DML Morning Briefing Tues. Apr. 6: Georgians get raw deal, terror coming across the border, assault on DeSantis, and more…
By Team DML
Today is April 6 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch. Below are my opinions on the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room, in my opinion.
1 – ‘Woke’ MLB moving All-Star Game from 51% Black Atlanta to 76% White Denver
Fox News reports: Opponents of MLB’s decision Monday to move the 2021 All-Star Game to Denver because of Georgia’s new voting law suggest the move could end up hurting Atlanta’s Black residents rather than helping them.
They note the move will deal an economic blow to Atlanta, which is 51% Black, and provide a boost to Colorado’s capital, which is only 9% Black, according to U.S. Census figures.
The “Midsummer Classic” was set for July 13 at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, until the Major League Baseball decided Friday to change its location — a decision that was cheered by several large corporations. On Monday, MLB announced the game will now be played at Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies.
According to 2019 U.S. Census data, Atlanta is 51% Black and 40.9% White, while Denver is 9.2% Black and 76% White.
Democrats and voting rights advocates argue that Georgia’s new voting law, signed by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp on March 25, would make it harder for people, particularly those of color, to vote.
DML: Dems just shot themselves in the foot.
2 – Biden’s ‘Sanctuary Country’ Orders Cut Deportations by 50 Percent
Breitbart reports: President Joe Biden’s “sanctuary country” orders, implemented at the start of his administration, have helped cut deportations of illegal aliens by 50 percent in March, a report reveals.
According to internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data, reviewed by the Wall Street Journal, the Biden orders helped cut deportations by 50 percent in March.
Biden also reduced arrests of illegal aliens by two-thirds compared to the rate of arrests in the final months of former President Trump’s administration. For perspective, in December 2020, ICE agents had arrested 4,400 criminal illegal aliens. By February, under Biden, 1,900 criminal illegal aliens were arrested — a decrease of 57 percent.
Likewise, Biden has dramatically cut the number of illegal aliens in ICE detention nationwide. In March, the Journal reports that just about 14,000 illegal aliens were in ICE custody, a steep drop compared to the more than 56,000 illegal aliens in ICE detention in 2019.
DML: Unfortunately, the number of “angel families” is America is going to grow.
3 – Border Patrol nabs two men at border on FBI’s terrorism watch list
CBP reported on Monday: U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested two Yemeni men within the last 2 months that were identified on a terrorism watch list.
On January 29, at approximately 1:10 a.m. – agents assigned to the El Centro Station arrested a man for illegally entering the United States. Agents apprehended the man approximately three miles west of the Calexico Port of Entry and transported him to the El Centro Processing Center for immigration and criminal history screening.
Agents conducted records checks, which revealed that the man, a 33-year-old illegal alien from Yemen, was on the FBI’s Terrorism Watch List as well as on the No-Fly list. Additionally, agents found a cellular phone sim card hidden underneath the insole of his shoe.
On March 30, at approximately 11:30 p.m. – agents assigned to the El Centro Station arrested a man for illegally entering the United States. Agents apprehended the man approximately two miles west of the Calexico Port of Entry and transported him to the El Centro Processing Center for immigration and criminal history screening. Agents conducted records checks, which revealed that the man, a 26-year-old illegal alien from Yemen, was also on the FBI’s Terrorism Watch List and on the No-Fly list.
Both men are on the @FBI Terrorism Watch List & the No-Fly List.🚫

DML: Who else thinks Biden’s open borders policies will results in another terrorist attack on American soil?
4 – Antony Blinken: The public can’t ‘start traveling again’ before worldwide vaccination
The Washington Examiner reports: President Joe Biden’s administration is gearing up for a campaign to distribute COVID-19 vaccines around the world, a diplomatic campaign touted as a necessity for a full rebound from the coronavirus pandemic.
“This pandemic won’t end at home until it ends worldwide,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Monday. “Even if we vaccinate all 332 million people in the United States tomorrow, we would still not be fully safe from the virus — not while it’s still replicating around the world, and turning into new variants that could easily come here and spread across our communities again. And, not if we want to fully reopen our economy, or start traveling again.”
“We can’t afford to ease up. This is the time for Americans to keep wearing masks and social distancing – and to get vaccinated when it’s your turn,” he declared.
DML: They don’t intend for life to go back to normal, do they?
5 – Parents Outraged After Teacher Reportedly Instructed Students At Texas School To Watch Video Of George Floyd’s Death And Keep It Secret
The Daily Caller reports: Parents of students at a Texas public high school were outraged after discovering a teacher reportedly instructed students to watch a video of George Floyd’s death and the Derek Chauvin trial, numerous sources reported.
Parents with children enrolled in Cedar Hill High School wrote a letter to the teacher who created the unapproved class assignment, which instructed students not to discuss what they watched of the trial with family for six weeks, WFAA reported Friday.
The teacher reportedly asked students to serve as mock jurors after watching the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who is facing charges of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
Parents said there was no attempt at gaining parental consent before the assignment, according to WFAA. It wasn’t until after parents began complaining about the assignment that the teacher allegedly provided a description of the assignment.
DML: This is an OUTRAGE!
6 – CBS Deceptively Edits Reporter’s Interaction With FL Gov. Ron DeSantis. Here’s What He Really Said.
The Daily Wire reported: CBS’s “60 Minutes” deceptively edited an exchange that reporter Sharyn Alfonsi had with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) two weeks ago about the way the Sunshine State has rolled out its vaccination program.
In the clip, Alfonsi suggested that Publix, the largest grocery store chain in Florida, had engaged in a pay-to-play scheme with DeSantis where they donated money to his campaign in exchange for him awarding a contract to the grocery store chain to host vaccinations.
CBS edited the interaction between DeSantis and Alfonsi when she showed up to a press conference a few weeks ago and repeatedly confronted the governor. The network cut out a lengthy portion of DeSantis’ response in which he explains what happened and how decisions were made.
Below is the full, unedited video of what DeSantis REALLY said:
Along with their deceptively-edited video, CBS also aired the following “hit piece” on DeSantis, accusing him of a pay-for-play deal.
Publix is now fighting back as well, slamming CBS for their report, saying it is absolutely false and offensive. Publix released the following statement on Monday:
“The irresponsible suggestion that there was a connection between campaign contributions made to Governor DeSantis and our willingness to join other pharmacies in support of the state’s vaccine distribution efforts is absolutely false and offensive. We are proud of our pharmacy associates for administering more than 1.5 million doses of vaccine to date and for joining other retailers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia to do our part to help our communities emergence from the pandemic.”
Democrat officials are also slamming CBS for the report, and speaking out in defense of DeSantis.
Palm Beach County Mayor Dave Kerner, a Democrat, accused CBS’ “60 Minutes” of “intentionally false” reporting in a statement on Monday:
“The reporting was not just based on bad information – it was intentionally false. I know this because I offered to provide my insight into Palm Beach County’s vaccination efforts and ’60 Minutes’ declined. They know that the governor came to Palm Beach County and met with me and the county administrator and we asked to expand the state’s partnership with Publix to Palm Beach County. We also discussed our own local plans to expand mass vaccinations centers throughout the county, which the Governor has been incredibly supportive. We asked and he delivered. They had that information, and they left it out because it kneecaps their narrative.
“We have confronted this pandemic for over a year. Our residents, like all Americans, are tired. And the media is making it worse. They are hellbent on dividing us for cheap views and clicks. ’60 Minutes’ should be ashamed.
“I thank the Governor for supporting the residents of Palm Beach County. Because of his efforts, working in coordination with Palm Beach County officials, over 275,000 seniors in our county-which is over 75% of the total senior population- have been vaccinated. I am proud of how our county and state leadership have executed on this important mission, and the results speak for themselves.”
Emergency Management Director Jared Moskowitz, also a Democrat, had first responded to the negative publicity on March 2, tweeting, “This idea why @Publix was picked has been utter nonsense. We reached out to all pharmacies and they were the only one who at the time could execute on the mission. The federal government delayed the federal pharmacy program and we yet again stepped up first to serve more seniors.”
On Sunday Moskowitz added, “@60Minutes I said this before and I’ll say it again. Publix was recommended by Florida Division of Emergency Management and Florida Health Department as the other pharmacies were not ready to start. Period! Full Stop! No one from the Governors office suggested Publix. It’s just absolute malarkey.”
Tuesday morning, Moskowitz pushed back again when someone suggested Walmart. “Tried Walmart first, they needed 21 days to get ready,” he explained.
