DML Morning Briefing June 3

By  Dennis Michael Lynch

Today is June 3. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.

1. Elon Musk feels ‘super bad’ about economy, needs to cut 10% of Tesla jobs
CNBC- Tesla CEO Elon Musk has a “super bad feeling” about the economy and needs to cut about 10% of jobs at the electric carmaker, he said in an email to executives seen by Reuters.

The message, sent on Thursday and titled “pause all hiring worldwide”, came two days after the billionaire told staff to return to the workplace or leave, and adds to a growing chorus of warnings from business leaders about the risks of recession.

Tesla employed almost 100,000 people at the company and its subsidiaries at the end of 2021, according to its annual SEC filing.

DML: I have been warning about this for a year now.  It ain’t a happy day for me to say I told you so, but I did.  And that’s why I am the smartest guy in the room and you should always listen to the DML PODCAST.  If you were listening to me you would have prepared for this day, as I have.  The perfect storm is coming, and it’s a storm created by the incompetence of the Biden administration.

2. ‘Enough, Enough’: Biden Calls On Lawmakers to Pass Gun Legislation
NY TIMES: President Biden demanded on Thursday that lawmakers respond to communities turned into “killing fields” by passing far-reaching limits on guns, calling on Congress to ban assault-style weapons, expand background checks and pass “red flag” laws after massacres in Texas and New York.

In a rare evening address to the nation, Mr. Biden dared Republicans to ignore the repeated convulsions of anger and grief from gun violence by continuing to block gun measures supported by large majorities in both parties, and even among gun owners.

“My God,” he declared from the Cross Hall, a ceremonial part of the White House residence, which was lined with candles in honor of victims of gun violence. “The fact that the majority of the Senate Republicans don’t want any of these proposals, even to be debated or come up for a vote, I find unconscionable. We can’t fail the American people again.”

DML: He just blew a bunch of hot air, it ain’t going to happen in this lifetime.  Instead of trying to take our guns, he should focus on hardening schools, stop gang bangers from controlling the streets, close the border and stop the drugs from creating f*cked up people who may end up killing themselves with a gun, start identifying people with mental health issues and give them services, and put criminals back in jail for longer sentences. Do all these things, which are not tough to do, and the gun killing will drop by 90%.

3. More refugees on the way to USA from Ukraine
CBS -In just over a month, more than 45,000 Americans have submitted applications to resettle Ukrainians displaced by the war in their homeland as part of the largest U.S. private sponsorship program for refugees in decades, according to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) data shared with CBS News.

As of Wednesday, just over 6,500 Ukrainians had arrived in the U.S. under the Uniting for Ukraine program, which began on April 25, the DHS figures show. U.S. immigration officials have also authorized the travel of 27,000 additional Ukrainians identified by American sponsors.

The number of applications and case approvals indicate the Uniting for Ukraine program could quickly become the largest official private refugee sponsorship initiative in U.S. history, eclipsing a program shut down in the 1990s that allowed U.S. groups to finance the resettlement of 16,000 refugees over six years.

DML: We do not need any more people from foreign nations!  We are getting hammered at the border, and we take in way too many legal aliens as well.  STOP letting so many people into the country, we cannot handle, process, pay for, vet, or place these people.

4.House panel investigates Saudi investment in Jared Kushner firm
Axios – A House committee has launched an investigation into former Trump White House adviser Jared Kushner and a $2 billion investment in his private equity company from a wealth fund controlled by Saudi Arabia’s crown prince.

House Committee on Oversight and Reform chair Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) wrote to Kushner on Thursday saying the panel was investigating “whether your personal financial interests improperly influenced U.S. foreign policy during the administration of your father-in-law, former President Trump.” Kushner denies any wrongdoing.

DML: I think Kushner is a liberal idiot, but if his marriage was to an Obama, Clinton or Biden, instead of a Trump, there would be no investigation.

5.Escaped Texas inmate with connections to the Mexican Mafia shot dead by police after THREE WEEK manhunt
Daily Mail – A weeks-long manhunt came to an end after an escaped convict with ties to the Mexican Mafia was killed in a shootout with Texas police.

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that 46-year-old Gonzalo Artemio Lopez was ‘captured and deceased’ three weeks after escaping a prison bus in Leon County.

Lopez, who authorities said was afflicted with the Mexican Mafia prison gang, was shot dead by police after a vehicle he was suspected of stealing was located in the San Antonio area and a ‘law enforcement interaction with the truck took place,’ Texas Department of Criminal Justice Chief of Staff Jason Clark said.

DML: One less POS to deal with her in America.  Now lets rid of the 40,000,000 illegal alien criminals in our country by deporting them all home.  And make no mistake, they are criminals — they broke our immigration laws whether Biden and the liberals wants to admit it or not.
